Passionate About Inspiring Others
As an accomplished entrepreneur and speaker, Stephen O’Keefe has a passion for helping people overcome barriers and turn them into opportunities. He’s presented in front of numerous audiences, including TEDx, and a documentary on his life and his stand up comedy aired across North America on CBC and PBS.
He has had more life experiences and misadventures than most people have in a lifetime. He has traveled to six continents and over 50 countries, and among other highlights, he got lost in an underwater cave in Australia while scuba diving, was gored by a wild cow in a rodeo, personally witnessed the fall of the Berlin wall, swam with sharks, ran with bulls in Pamplona, and bungy jumped in Zimbabwe. In addition, he loves challenges, both physical and mental, as he completed several Ironman triathlons and trekked across a Kenyan desert with camels.
He also found time to obtain two university degrees, and was awarded the most outstanding graduating student, as well as the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award; he also has won several public speaking and stand-up comedy competitions. He was one of the first deaf lawyers in North America, led a community development project in Guyana, South America, worked as a management consultant, and operated a successful manufacturing business.
One last thing – he was born profoundly deaf, and the doctors told his parents that he would never speak. Stephen is a personable and humorous speaker with unique stories. By drawing from his life experiences, Stephen’s talks will inspire you, and show you how to live life to the fullest.
He currently lives in Vancouver Canada, with his wife, son, and a rambunctious goldendoodle, and is always plotting his next adventure. For a more personal version of Stephen’s background, read this: "My Manifesto - the Real About Me”.
